ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Sugar Hill is a TK-5 Elementary School with a current enrollment of approximately 650 students. The school is located in the northern section of the city of Moreno Valley. The neighborhood school opened in September of 1987. Currently the school has 23 regular education classes, two Special Day Class (SDC), and 1.5 Resource Class (RSP). The staff also includes  Instructional Assistants, and part-time School Psychologist, Speech Pathologist, and Counselor. Sugar Hill also houses the Think Together After School Program.

Sugar Hill Elementary is comprised of a diverse population of students. The dominant language spoken is English. Parents and community partnerships are vital to the overall success of our school. Valued partnerships include an active and supportive School Site Council (SSC), English Language Advisory Committee(ELAC), African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC), District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC), Adopt-A-School community partners, and other volunteers.

Sugar Hill is comprised of a dedicated staff committed to providing your child with a rigorous and quality education.

Setting high expectations for students, allowing students to be responsible for their own learning, and held accountable for their own behavior choices develops students' self efficacy and provides them the opportunity to take pride in their accomplishments.

Our students' social emotional learning is a top priority at Sugar Hill Elementary. Behavioral expectations are implemented, monitored, and evaluated following the “Positive Behavior Intervention and Support” (PBIS) research-based process. Sugar Hill's school-wide PBIS Rewards Program works to incentivize students' good choices and behavior with a point system where students can shop an online student store for prizes.
